Welcome to Vintage '09
Vintage is upon us and we are busy in the winery with the 2009 fruit. I've pressed some delicious Sauvignon Blanc off skins and the winery smells divine! We have been lucky this year, with good rain in the lead up to vintage. We are now having lovely sunny days with cooler nights which creates a long ripening season and subsequently builds fantastic cool climate flavours in the fruit.
My passion for Riesling is ‘out there’ so it’s exciting to see the Wine Wise review stating “The Patina wine demonstrates how good Orange Riesling can be when it is made with great care.”
I’m creating a special “Jezza” red blend and I’ll have a barrel in the tasting room during F.O.O.D. week for sampling. We look forward to seeing you at the cellar door soon.
Cheers Gerald
Orange F.O.O.D. Week
The Orange F.O.O.D. Week is on again! Festivities, dinners, lunches and exhibitions (to name a few) will be held from 17 to the 26 April.
This year Patina has teamed up with renowned stonecutter, Ian Marr to hold an exhibition. Ian’s stones will be set in the garden which is looking beautiful in the autumn air. There will also be paintings by Patina’s Angela Naef. The exhibition can be viewed throughout F.O.O.D. Week. Click here for full details on the F.O.O.D. Week program.
Enjoy the garden & views with a delicious regional picnic by foodie Chantel Naef accompanied by a glass of wine during the first weekend (April 18th and 19th) from 11am to 5pm. Cost $20 (RSVP).
More information on Ian Marr can be seen here. As well, you can see a number of Angie's paintings on our recently updated Gallery page on our website here.
The cellar door is open weekends from 11am to 5pm and other times by appointment on 02 6362 8336.

Ian is an artist interested in painting, lettercutting, teaching, travel and scholarship.
He is currently painting strong impressionistic landscapes and interiors in oils, while his drawings in charcoal and ink have a delicate nostalgia.
Ian also uses ancient techniques to cut inscriptions in stone for public and private spaces.
