2010: Is your marketing plan up to date?
Dear Winemakers,
With the end of year fast approaching, it's a good time to revisit your marketing plan. Hopefully this will mean pulling your existing marketing action plan out and going over the year's marketing initiatives. You'll need to work over the following:
- Is the brand proposition still relevant?
- Are your objectives still relevant?
- What actions and initiatives worked and what didn't?
- What generated the greatest return on investment?
- Has my profitability increased?
- What markets will I focus on this year?
- How will I broaden my distribution?
- How can I increase direct retail sales?
- Is there opportunity to increase prices?
- Is there opportunity to profitably introduce a new wine to the range?
There are obviously more questions and issues that should be addressed and the new year is the perfect time to work on them.
If you want to talk to us about how we can increase awareness for your brand in 2010, please call us on 02 6361 9898.
Have a great holiday period and best wishes for 2010.
Cheers
David & the team at Define Wine
Are you getting your fair share of the limelight?
Are you frustrated that other winemakers are getting their wines reviewed and you're missing out?
If you do not have a PR plan, then the chances are that the wine media do not know about your wines. You should be contacting the media and updating them about new wines, news from the winery and samples of your wines.
Some of the publicity that our clients have been receiving include;
PATINA ORANGE REGION SAUVIGNON BLANC 2008: "The fragrant bouquet foretells the vibrant and lively palate, with its delicious mix of passionfruit and citrus; excellent line and length. Screwcap. 12.2% alc. Rating 94"
James Halliday, Sept 2009
KINGSTON ESTATE PINOT GRIS 2009: "Bargain of the Week - This faintly pink wine from Adelaide Hills has flavour and a nice lively palate, with aromas of spices and stone fruits and traces of ginger and honey. Hints of dried grapes and a quite piercing texture. Anything but a common, bland style of Pinot Gris.":
Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald,
Readership 212,700, Oct 2009
ROBERT STEIN MUDGEE RIESLING: "Oooo we have a good one here. A riesling from Mudgee. From Robert Stein. Wasn't sure what to expect. This is a crackerjack wine. Personality and persistence plus. Lime and lemon sorbet with spicy, talc-like edges. Almost has twiggy elements. There's a bit of texture to it too. But mostly it's the power and length that does it for me. Impressive wine. Rating: 94 Points"
Campbell Mattinson, Winefront, Oct 2009
