The view from Lowe Wines

From a national perspective I can report the following; the gap has widened between cheap wine and good wine.

This has been predicted for 30 years and now with wine oversupply happening the good wine is getting better and the worse wine is being further compromised.

If you want to drink cheap wine then you can bet that something has cheapened whether its grapegrowing or winemaking.  No preaching here, but wine finds its price.

We at Lowe wines have learnt that we can't sacrifice quality. The best way to enjoy wine is in a good environment with a background of experience, enjoyment and education.

Look at the web site to see what we are able to provide you, visit the winery to experience not just the wine but our facilities including food and education and resources, or give us a call.

Now to brag a bit!

What a year it’s been!    It’s been frantic in the vineyard and winery after our merger with our vinous friends Louee Wines.   I wouldn’t have it any other way.

All this hard work has not been without reward, with our flagship wine, the 2009 Lowe Zinfandel being named Australia and New Zealand’s ‘Best Wine of the Show’ at the 2011 Organic Wine Show.

This was on the back of our success at the recent Mudgee Wine Show where Lowe Wines was awarded ‘The Gil Walhquist Trophy for the Best Organic Producer’.

Our new website, has all with information on us and our wines, as well as all the details on up coming events at the cellar door.

If you have any questions about our wines and events, please call me on 02 6372 0800.

Winemakers Table

The Winemaker's Table is set in the middle of our winery and guests are invited to 'chip in' with the activities of the table – much as you would when dining in the home of a friend.

Wines are selected and explained by David - always with something new, something from the cellar and something extra special.

The plattered food for sharing is prepared by Kim Currie - rustic, seasonal and wherever possible from the Tinja property.

Check the website for dates.

Vintage Birthday Party

In April 2011 the winery celebrated its 10th birthday with 140 people sharing a 20 wine, ten course meal prepared by five chefs.

It was such a wonderful celebration last year that we’ve decided to do it every year – but limiting the numbers of guests and courses a bit.  We’ll still turn it on as the absolute not to be missed event.

Cost:  $150, early bird bookings available to wine club members
